RAPS is designed to run on the family of Personal Computers with Microsoft Windows® 2000, XP, Vista and subsequent Windows versions 7 through to 11  with a minimum of 512MB  RAM (1,000MB or more recommended); a SVGA monitor displaying at least 24 bit colour (High Colour or True Colour)  and at least 1024×768 pixel screen resolution is recommended.

A spreadsheet, word processor and graphics printer are recommended but not essential.

The office suite OpenOffice® is specifically used for the production of resource trend profiles and viewing spreadsheet data generated by RAPS. OpenOffice is open source software and free.
